It is time for celebrations for us as La cabina telefonica di Yuan Huan (Yuan Huan’s Phone Booth) written by Miyase Sertbarut translated into Italian by Emons Edizioni received a Premio Rodari Award as Best Children’s Book Novel of 2024.
The award ceremony was held in Omegna, Gianni Rodari’s hometown, as a part of the Festival di Letteratura Per Ragazzi ‘Gianni Rodari’ (Gianni Rodari Children’s Literature Festival). Sertbarut’s novel was selected among 240 titles and received not only the Best Novel but also a Special Mention Award by the students of Padova University.
The jury presented the award with these words: ‘La cabina telefonica di Yuan Huan reminds us the tone and atmosphere of Gianni Rodari’s works.’
